I choose Nikon because in all my years at the leading edge of visual effects, the most demanding challenge was to make video or digital look like film.  Nikon has somehow managed to handle highlights in the most filmic way, that I personally believe surpasses all other 35mm DSLR competition. I understand the sensors are common to many manufacturers, but Nikon definitely does something to the highlights.  Noise was always a bigger issue with Nikon at higher ISO's, but with the D850, the noise is surprisingly lower than previous cameras I have owned, which is probably down to the Nikon Expeed 5 processing of the images.

My latest Nikon is a D850, which offers a FX full frame 45.7 megapixel Nikon NEF Raw image ISO 64-25600 at a continuous 7 fps.  It offers me both diversity and power for all my shooting needs.

I use Nikkor F mount lenses that date back to my original Nikon 35 mm Film cameras. But when the D850 is teamed up with my Zeiss Otus F1.4 lense, the image quality is not compromised.

The most important element to photography is light and with Broncolor lights I have the best quality and most powerful lights on the market.  Studio I use a Grafit A4 with Pulso, MobiLed and Picolite heads. For outdoor shooting I use Siros 800L's.   The premium Broncolor light shaper are the Para's that offer the ultimate for beauty fashion work. I chose the Para 133 which is ideal for portrait and full body shots in studio or on location.

For image editing, colour, processing and delivery, I utilise both Adobe Lightroom and Capture One as well as Photoshop.

Filmic look and incredible dynamic range of the BMPCC 4K made my purchase an easy decision. I also still own a Aaton A-Minima Super 16 Cine with a set of Zeiss t1.2 super fast primes.  The primes fit the BMPCC with an a PL adapter and offer a great 2K image. The camera is also paired with my Panasonic and Olympus MFT lenses.

To offer flexibility, I own a DJI Ronin RS2 Gimbal and a DJI Mavic Pro Drone.

Audio is covered with Rode Microphones.

For Post Production, I use Avid, Final Cut and DaVinci Resolve Studio.
